Moorcroft Number Edition Florian Blue Pansy Vase MCR-296
Originally founded as a studio in 1897 within a large ceramic company, James Macintyre & Co. Moorcroft pottery soon made its mark on the world. Today, Moorcroft leads the world of art pottery with its own distinctive design style. We are proud to present this Moorcroft collection featuring stunning pottery designs.
This shape, complete with fluted rim, has only been used twice before in Moorcroft’s design history. Shape was always important to William Moorcroft and there are examples of William’s Florian Pansy designs, from 1902, using bulbous form vases. In this design, the flower head, not the bulb, is celebrated with leaves that appear to float as lightly as petals at the base of the design before erupting into blousy, distinctive blooms mimicking the ruffled edges of the vase itself. Dimensions: H 30.00 x W 10.00 x D 10.00 cm. Shape 366/12.
