The story of Noah’s Ark comes to life on a tall shouldered vase, utilizing only a Moorcroft blue pigment for a truly unique design that will stop anyone in their tracks. The legend of the unicorn, in particular, was something that captured Kerry’s imagination. The Unicorn Song (words and music by Shel Silverstein), perhaps made most famous by the Irish Rovers, was about how the mythical unicorns missed their place on Noah’s Ark because they hid from Noah. An excerpt:
The ark started moving, it drifted with the tide
The unicorns looked up from the rocks and they cried
And the waters came down and sort of floated them away
That’s why you never see unicorns to this very day
While the rain lashes down and the flood plains fill, elephants, bears, camels, geese, tortoises, snakes, cows and lions make their way into the shelter of the ark. But Kerry’s unicorn does not. He prances and gallops and frolics in the rain, never to be seen again.
