Moorcroft A Diamond Rose Limited Edition Vase, MCR-271
Originally founded as a studio in 1897 within a large ceramic company, James Macintyre & Co. Moorcroft pottery soon made its mark on the world. Today, Moorcroft leads the world of art pottery with its own distinctive design style. We are proud to present this Moorcroft collection featuring stunning pottery designs.
On 21st April 2021, Queen Elizabeth II becomes the world’s very first monarch to celebrate a 95th birthday – a remarkable accomplishment which will be commemorated across the United Kingdom, Commonwealth, and further afield. Moorcroft will also be celebrating the occasion, with a special commemorative vase designed by Emma Bossons FRSA. It was Emma who created in 2006, Elizabeth, a pale white and pink rose to commemorate her Majesty’s 80th birthday.
For this year’s celebrations, coral-coloured buds are ready to open into full-blown, copper-coloured roses, with a subtle hint pink shading on the outer petals. Moorcroft’s classic dark blue is employed to great effect at the base and rim of the vase, while a pale, golden light emanates from the centre. A Diamond Rose is a design which fits its name because diamonds symbolise unconquerable and enduring love of life and these are just two of the qualities that Queen Elizabeth II has shown throughout her reign.
